Morning Work:

Social Studies:
Today in social studies, Mrs. Graff's class introduced the Aztec Indians. We watched a short video called 25 Interesting Facts About The Aztec,  read an article about this ancient civilization, and took some notes. To finish, the students answered a few questions about the information we discussed today.

Language:
Today in language, Mr. Pontious' class worked with quotation marks and how to use them to indicate dialogue in a text. We watched a Flocabulary video over quotation marks and filled out a packet to practice using them in sentences.

Reading:

For reading today, both classes read an excerpt from Gary Paulsen's Hatchet. We then discussed the different cause/effect situations in this text. Finally the students wrote a paragraph summarizing what we read and discussed.
