I told the students that there will be an opportunity to earn 3 extra points on this quiz if they can tell me three facts about the Mason-Dixon line/boarder!

Next week we will begin a culminating project in the class for the ALL 50 States and Capitals. We will also learn about each regions geographic land features.

I will have more information about this project in next week's posts.

READING

Today was "catch up and check my learning" Friday. The students completed two learning checks about the major learning targets this week.

The first, was a Venn diagram to show their learning about metaphors and similes.

The second was a handout where the student showed their understanding and application of context clues both on given words and phrases and in their own independent reading.

WRITING/LANGUAGE ARTS

We took out language starter quiz! Then we completed a verb tense activity.
