SOCIAL STUDIES

First thing today we completed our Daily Geography for Thursday.

Then we took our Midwest quiz! Many did well. Some students; however, did not fully learn the geographical locations of the states. Therefore, they only received half credit. They will have another opportunity to learn the locations, and take a re-quiz on the states' location next Monday!

I gave the students a word back with the states and capital mixed matched

Tomorrow we will begin our Southwest region. 

READING

 Today's focus was vocabulary work. We focused on the purpose and the proper way to complete their Words in My World papers.

Then we learned how suffixes can change the meaning of root words.

Finally we focused on what good sentences look like!

WRITING/LANGUAGE ARTS

 VIP Sentences- these are sentences that have all the Very Important Parts. We took notes in good detailed sentences and what questions they answer. That way we can incorporate VIP sentences in all our work, especially our In My World Vocabulary Sheets.
