** All Short Reads were due today!**
Reading:
Yesterday we read about an information text about problem & solution text structure that involved pickling, or preserving foods.
Many of the students didn't have experience with pickling, or canning. So we completed an activity to build our background knowledge and schema today!
We utilized a real life resources, a cookbook for Home Preservation. We used the Table of contents and other book text features to locate the information and look up too recipes Then we classified it into our our text structures this week and tasted: pickles. chutney, and apple sauce.
