Social Studies:
Students continued to work with their partners and groups on their explorers. Today they were to complete their book readings and taking notes.
Reading:
Today we began to look at themes in fiction texts.
We started with class discussion about different text we read throughout the year to recall what them was.
Then we read about how setting and theme can be important to think about together.
Next, we read this passage to practice how to visualize the setting, and analyze the theme of the text.
For independent work the students read and excerpt of "Island of the Blue Dophins"
