Reading Logs for the First Time!

Today we went over Reading Logs. They will be due back next Friday morning (8-26-16)! Remember to read 20 mins each night and complete the log. Parent or Adult signatures are required! There was a parent/guardian letter sent home with the log explaining all protocol. Students were instructed to have parents/guardians read and sign the letter.  Then return the letter with its signature to school Monday. See Letter below:

We also completed our first writing sample today! Students had their first writing lesson on writing a paragraph and what all needs to be included in a paragraph while answering a question. I will use this sample as a base line on where each student is with writing and how to instruct them next. This was a paralleled activity to their self-designed file folders. They designed the folders and then I had them write about the folder in their writing assignment.

We also when over the weekly schedule and the students received a copy of that, too!

Finally, students received their first Friday Mail folders and planners. The folders should be returned to school Monday, and stay there until next Friday. Planners, however, will stay in their binders and be taken home nightly. This will be another means of communication for all of us!
